December 12, 2012
marks the 1 year anniversary of the launching of the Viralprint website
allowing members to start signing up. We
are also 7 months into the launching of the shopping cart and products to
purchase. Thank you for being a part of
this momentous occasion! We have
accomplished a lot in our first year and there are many things we have not done
that we had hoped to by this time. All
lessons learned in the scaling of a new business. Since launching the shopping cart I have been
more behind the scenes working with operations making sure we are developing a
sound foundation to the flow of orders.
I appreciate everyone’s patience as we define and maximize the reaching
of our goals! Change is never easy, but
sometimes necessary. I ask for your
understanding & support.
Viralprint is going to make
a change in direction I feel is best for the company and its
members. This letter will introduce you
to this new direction. Now that we have
some history to our initial goals, it is time to review. The vision for Viralprint was for members to
build large teams of 5 levels of referrals in order to create a
passive-residual income. We have not
progresses near what we projected. We
have had some setbacks that held us back from doing many things including an
online design studio, corporate pages, more staffing, customer service phone
system, improvements to the website and shopping cart and other goals toward
our growth. Our biggest setback was not
acquiring an Angel investment we were working on. That delay held us back from launching the
shopping cart which was ready in January 2012.
We greatly missed projections of the viral growth of membership we had
targeted to be 500,000 by end of this year.
We are at 9,300+ members to date, which is not bad. I just wanted you to know this so you can
understand why we are where we are.
Since the funding fell through, I did not want to delay our members from
opportunity nor delay our start…so I decided to “Boot Strap” our launch and
grow literally from the ground up. Not
an easy path, but many successful global companies today set off on the same
path as grass roots, basement style beginnings.
I have built and helped to build several other companies and my
Entrepreneurial spirit is strong when faced with challenges. I am not one to throw in the towel at the
first bump in the road that knocks me back.
I still plan to build this company into a global competitor to companies
like Vistaprint. I still plan to add and
enhance our site with tools and professionalism as we are able to make it
happen. I still want the foundation of
our members and those yet to join to have an opportunity to make added income
and help to improve their lives. So here
is my plan and reasons of the changes.
Effective January 1, 2013 the
5 level affiliate commission program will end and will be replaced with a “Cash
Back” reward system. In my research of
our results I have found the MLM marketing style of growth is not working for
us. The goal was for “viral” growth to take
place where members referred members and build large teams of 5 levels of
buyers for a passive-residual income.
Some of you worked that plan, most have not and that is OK understanding
the dynamics of things. In researching
the numbers 88% of sales came from active members who were out there direct
selling door to door or for personal purchases.
Viralprint was not set up to manage or train ‘sales reps” and this
caused us further challenges and cost.
Admirable, but not the original goal to building teams instead. Earning 10% commission is not going to pay
well for time spent direct selling as it would take considerable longer to
build a client base to produce an income.
Frankly, many direct selling members got burned out for the time taken
to direct sell from the commissions earned.
Another factor; only 2% of our members got a commission which averaged
less than $7 and that is not going to continue to motivate the masses nor the
2% very long. This Marketing Engine for
Viralprint just did not work as hoped or planned.
This new format will
allow members to continue to use their landing page links, referral ID, back
office, marketing materials, etc. None
of that has changed and is still usable!
A promotion is coming out in a few days on marketing materials to help
light the fire once again; I invite you to get these deals while you can! Before, members could not earn commissions on
their personal purchases as commissions were paid to your referring
upline. As of 1.1.13, any purchase made
through YOUR landing page will earn a 15% Cash Back reward including your own
purchases! YOU can refer others to your
landing page link and they DO NOT have to join to make a purchase. When they make a purchase through YOUR
landing page, you earn 15% cash back each time.
This will help with businesses and other MLM companies to wanting to
“Join” to get wholesale pricing. This
will be more of a loyalty program. You
can be more of a “Sales Rep” or “Print Broker” if you want and do direct sales
too. Your referrals can join for free
and get the 15% cash back for themselves through their landing page, so you
don’t lose out altogether, when they sign up under you on your landing page,
like now, any purchases made through their landing page by them or their
referrals will earn you a 5% cash back.
That is the extent of this new path.
Sorry, no more 5 level teams.
Those already signed up with you on your first level will stay connected
with you and you can earn 5% cash back from their purchases. The landing page will be changed to reflect
the new program and landing pages will not show any info regarding the cash
back program that will be up to you to share with your new referrals. We will become more of a traditional online
print business still with one of the best reward systems anywhere online in the
printing industry. Prices will remain
wholesale as well. As we work to make these
changes, please be patient. I believe
this will benefit the company, our members and new referrals even more. More information will be showing on the main
